All too often I find myself gazing longingly into the future, or moping about how fast the previous season flew by, all the while not paying a bit of attention to the season I’m currently in except for bitterly wishing it away.
Can you relate? Maybe your current season is too busy or too slow, or maybe it’s just plain old hard and your tired of being emotionally and physically exhausted.
Ladies, I’ve been convicted recently of one truth about the season we are currently in, regardless of what it holds for us. That truth is this: God will always show up.
Our God, the One who loves and values us beyond measure, the One who has called and purposed us for such a time as this, will always show up in our present season. He will show up in the good, He will show up in the bad, He will show up in the easy, and He will show up in the hard. Regardless of what this season holds, He will show up.
That doesn’t mean that He’ll always be easy to see or hear, however. Sometimes He works in the background, orchestrating things in such a way that they will turn out for our good. And yet at other times He will show up so blatantly that He will be visible to not only you, but to everyone around you as well.
I don’t understand His ways nor His timing. But I do know that He is good. Period. And if He is good, He will always show up. He will not abandon nor forsake us. Rather, He will lead us in growth and maturity, so that we can fully be who He has created us to be, so that we can be His hands and feet, His loving heart, to the best of our ability, in a world that desperately needs Him.
And so, Beautiful, wherever you are today, whatever season you find yourself in, please know that He will show up.
If you’re having trouble in this season, pray the following prayer with me:
God, you know my present circumstances. You know the season that I’m currently in even better than I do. Help me not to wish it away, but rather help me to see what You have for me in this season. Give me the grace and patience and determination to persevere. And please, will you show up. Thank you for being so good. Amen.
